About

Vote It Up, Edgehill is a small scale campaign meant to encourage the Edgehill Public Housing Community here in Nashville, TN to Register and Vote by giving easy to follow overviews the processes of registering to voting, what will be on the Ballot, and about restoration Voting Rights. The Vote It Up, Edgehill! 2020 November Election campaign is a special wave that aims to inspire and encourage the community to be engaged with the civil process and to vote blue.

Even though I started the Vote It Up project in response to the 2016 Presidential election and the actions of the GOP in Tennessee, in previous waves of the project my intent was to remain neutral on endorsing a party directly because I believe the act of voting in itself is what is most important for us to take power but it has become extremely apparent that the GOP at every level of government is working against and is trying to suppress the will of the people as well as sowing nonstop division. In good conscience I can’t do this project and tell people in 2020 that voting red would be a good thing for our community, city, state, and country. That would be the case if I remain neutral because by context it would present the GOP in the same light as the Democratic Party. So this wave will encourage everyone to vote blue for everything on the ballot. If there are future waves to this project, I intend to return to a neutral stance on party if my conscience allows. Especially if the GOP changes fundamentally for the better.

This Wave campaign has a print component in the form of small cards with various quotes, some quick info, and web links that will be given out to each Edgehill apartment (380 units) and the online component in the form of this site.
