Mail-In Voting Stance & Check Your Voter Registration

Absentee (Mail-In) Voting Current Stance

Unfortunately, as it stands currently Let’s Vote it Up recommends that you should vote in person instead of voting by mail due to the very intentional act of slowing down of the mail by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy (who was appointed to the position by Trump) and that means there’s a very real chance that your ballot may not be counted in time for the election.

If you do vote by mail it is recommended that you complete your ballot and either mail your ballot as soon and as early as you possibly can or go to the Post Office on Broadway in the same building as the Frist Art Museum and give your completed ballot with first class postage to a postal clerk to directly mail and place your ballot into the Election Commission Post Box. (*I think this is closest we get to a “dropbox” due the state law requiring all mail-in ballots to be mailed by the USPS. The Election Comission recommends this as well: https://twitter.com/DavidsonVotes/status/1295500553376727041 )

To make things even harder, unfortunately, the TN Supreme Court has ruled against anyone to use the reason to vote by mail if they simply don’t want to risk getting or spreading Covid by voting in person. This ruling may change in the near future so be on the lookout for that.

You can still vote by mail: if you are over 60, if you are hospitalized ill, or disabled, if you are a direct caretaker of someone who are hospitalized, ill, or disabled, or lastly if you or if you are a direct caretaker of someone who have an illness, physical disability or other underlying health condition that makes them especially vulnerable to Covid. Also please note that a Doctor’s Statement is not required for these reasons.
